RB Café Presents: Craft Classes
A variety of craft classes will be offered in the RB Café beginning in March. In the beginning classes will need to be registered for through the Patch Arts and Crafts Center: 0711-680-5270. Feel free to contact us for special request group classes!

We are in particular need for fine arts instructors including: acrylic, watercolor and oil painters, drawing and sculpting. What: Texture Painting
Description: Tots experiment with different textures while painting a ceramic plate.

CYSS ArtEdge

Stuttgart Arts and Crafts partners with CYS Services to bring students the ArtEdge creative program. Children age 6 and up may participate in classes. Registration takes place at CYS Central Enrollment.

Textile

What: Sewing Machine and Rotary Cutting Certification
Description: Learn the basics of using our sewing machines and rotary cutters. This class is a requirement for all sewing and quilting classes.
When: Every Thursday, by appointment only.

What: Jump Start Quilting
Description: Learn the basics of piecing together a quilt top and quick quilting methods. Great for beginners!

Description: Learn several methods for making binding. Bring a small quilt to bind in class.

What: Introduction to Machine Quilting
Description: It's time to turn those quilt tops into quilts! Learn how to prepare your quilt for machine quilting on your home sewing machine. Practice designs in class on a sample "quilt sandwich."

What: Jelly Rolls and Bali Pops
Description: Jump-start a quilting project using pre-cut 2 1/2" strips. Bring your pattern/book and a Jelly Roll or Bali Pop to class and receive help in following the instructions. (Garden Trellis sample hanging at the shop in Metro Mirage fabrics.)
When: Tuesday & Wednesday, August 24th and 25th (2 sessions)

What: Double Nine Patch:
Description: This 66" x 66" quilt is a great size for sofa throw or a child's bed. The pattern is fun, quick and easy, suitable for beginning quilters. The shop sample uses a Robot theme, but the design would also look nice in florals or "Nicey Jane" fabrics.
When: Fridays, August 20th and 27th

Framing Classes

Cut your framing bills nearly in half by learning to do it yourself. We’ll work hands on with you from the first step till the last. You’ll learn how to cut glass, mats, and molding. Then, we’ll teach you the archival quality method of framing your project. We recommend for your first project that you bring a picture no larger than an 8 x 10 to frame.

NEW! What: White Metal Casting

Description: White metal casting is casting low melting temperature tin alloys. This course class covers pouring figures using silicone molds and basic equipment. This is not spin casting which requires expensive specialized equipment, but hand casting which requires minimal equipment.

Participants in the course will have the option of making one or more of the following types of white metal figurines: 1/32d scale Mounted or foot knights, 1/32d scale mounted civil war cavalry troopers (Confederate or Union), 1/72d scale fantasy war gaming figures (6 different figures from both the light and dark sides), an early Operation Enduring Freedom era US soldier, or figures for a 1/45 scale nativity set.

When: 10 June
