General Description
Stuttgart Parent Outreach Services (POS) encompasses a multitude of services for Army families for both the children and parents. The gateway to families is the Central Enrollment Registration (CER) office. CER handles family enrollments, and all programs', events', and sports' registrations. Family needs and care, to include special needs, is also tracked through CER. POS plans and coordinates special events to include monthly Parents' Night Out and other quarterly special events. Parent Education classes are offered for parents at no cost educating new strategies and skills to parents. Examples of parent education classes include literacy, cooking, and gardening. POS also provides additional support in childcare for families outside the traditional child care situation through:
-Babysitting Referral Services
Stuttgart CYS Services offers a Babysitting Referral Services for enrolled families.
Babysitters on the referral list are 13 years or older, have American Red Cross certification in First Aid and CPR. Training also includes developmentally appropriate play, recognition of child abuse/neglect, emergency procedures, interviewing, and much more. Stop by CER to sign out a Babysitter Referral List.
-Adult Babysitting Training Text
4-H/CYS Services Adult Babysitting Training:
This is a 3 day course presented by the Family Child Care Office and 4-H for Adults 18 years and older. The training includes developmentally appropriate play, recognition of child abuse/neglect, emergency procedures, interviewing, Certification in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR, and much more. Attendance and participation in all three days is required.
-Parents’ Night Out 2010
Stuttgart CYS Services offers families a night out on the town. While you are taking some time for yourselves, we provide childcare one Friday night monthly for children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade. We provide a snack and developmentally appropriate activities for your child.
Registration: Sign up ends the Wednesday before.
Cost: $20 for 1st child and $18 each additional sibling.

-CYS Services Volunteer
Parent volunteers are a very important resource for CYS Services. Our programs and our children/youth benefit immensely from the knowledge and skill that volunteers provide.
We're looking for enthusiastic people who want to help out, whatever capacities they are able, assisting and leading various activities.
Start by becoming a registered volunteer through Go-Volunteer through Army Community Services’ to find out where your talents can be best used within CYS Services and keep track of your volunteer hours to earn Parent Participation Points. Visit our Parent Involvement page to learn more.
-Volunteer Coaching
Anyone interested in coaching should complete an application and background check
packet and return it to the CYS administrative assistant in Bldg 2347 (CER) on Patch or
the CYS Sports and Fitness office on Panzer Bldg 3162.
-Coaches Discount:
Coaches discounts are offered after the completion of one full season as a Head Coach.
One child will be allowed to play for free. The second child and all other children will
receive a 50% discount. Coaches may not combine their coaching discount with any other
discount to further reduce their sports participation fee.
-Coaching Requirements:
For the safety of the children, only coaches or volunteers with completed background
checks and coaching certification are permitted to assist the team during practices or
games.
-Coaches Clinic:
Anyone wishing to coach must attend one of the coaches clinics and become certified
coach through the National Youth Sports Coaching Alliance (NYSCA).
